From a young age, Anna Layton’s passion for boats was ignited by her dad, Mike Layton – owner of Adrenaline Powerboats. “Ever since I was a little girl, I always loved going to work with my Dad,” Anna says. “I wanted to go into the paint booth with him and paint. I wanted to go into the glass shop and work with him. I basically would follow him around all day, just walking in his shadow.”
As she grew older, Anna’s childhood fascination turned into a determined career path. “I decided that I was going to work with Dad and make a career out of it,” she explains. “I have always loved boats and the entire process behind building them. I wanted to become a key player in the build process.” Anna found her calling in the composite division of Adrenaline Powerboats. “I immediately fell in love with the composite division,” she says proudly. “I learned how to do infusion and eventually became a manager, helping build and develop teams around our advanced composite processes.”
Anna’s journey at Adrenaline Powerboats has been accompanied by the desire to grow her knowledge. “I wanted to learn everything—how to build the molds, how to assemble the parts, how to make everything work,” she says enthusiastically. “I’m still learning and growing every day.”
Currently, Anna plays a pivotal role in Adrenaline Powerboats’ military program, a responsibility she holds close to her heart. “This program is special because it’s pushing our composite shop to new heights,” Anna explains. “We work with carbon fiber and advanced composite techniques, building for our country’s defense needs. My goal is to fully manage this program as it integrates into our defense contracting division.”
While Anna cherishes her work in recreational boat building, she finds something uniquely rewarding in their contract work. “I love our recreational boats, but there’s something really special about our contract projects,” she notes. “My goal is to manage this program as it grows.”
Anna has already made significant contributions to Adrenaline Powerboats, having overseen the building of their flagship Reaper models and growing teams dedicated to excellence. “I’ve helped with the building process of all of our Reapers and continue to train and work closely with our team,” she says with pride.
Anna attributes much of her success to her close relationship with her Dad. “Dad and I are really, really close,” she shares warmly. “I’ve always loved working with him, and that bond has fueled my passion for this industry.”
Anna’s dedication and drive promise a future of growth for Adrenaline Powerboats in both recreational and defense boat building. Her story is one of passion, persistence, and a commitment to mastering every aspect of her craft—one American-made boat at a time.
